Prior to target database registration, a database administrator may need to whitelist the IP address of the Oracle Data Safe Network Address Translation (NAT) gateway for the region where your Oracle Data Safe service is enabled. Whitelisting allows Oracle Data Safe to connect to your target database.
How and whether to whitelist the IP address depends on the type of target database you want to register:
- For a DB system, an administrator can add an ingress security rule to the virtual cloud network (VCN) using the Oracle Data Safe NAT gateway IP address that corresponds to the region in which Oracle Data Safe is enabled. To create a security list and add an ingress security rule, see Security Lists.
- For an Autonomous Database (serverless) that uses a network Access Control List (ACL), an administrator can add the Oracle Data Safe NAT gateway IP address to the ACL. See Set Access Control List with Autonomous Data Warehouse.
- For an Autonomous Database (serverless) that does not use a network ACL, an administrator does not need to do anything.
The following table lists the IP addresses of the Oracle Data Safe NAT gateways for the regions in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
