Create an Oracle Analytics Cloud Subscription Instance

Use the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console to set up a service with Oracle Analytics Cloud Subscription.

Note

When you subscribe to Oracle Analytics for Applications, you automatically get access to Oracle Analytics Cloud Subscription. You must use this Oracle Analytics Cloud Subscription to create your Oracle Analytics Cloud instance. You might subscribe to other versions of Oracle Analytics Cloud and have existing Oracle Analytics Cloud deployments, but you can't use these with your Oracle Analytics for Applications deployment.
  1. Sign into the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console using your cloud account credentials.
  2. Open the navigation menu. Under More Oracle Cloud Services, go to Platform Services and click Analytics.
You see the Analytics Cloud page.
  3. Open the navigation menu again, and click Analytics Cloud Subscription.
  4. On the Analytics Cloud Subscription page, under the Instances tab, click Create Instance.
  5. For Instance Name, enter a name for your service instance.
The name must start with a letter and can contain only letters and numbers.
  6. For Notification Email, enter the email address of the person, for example the Cloud Account Administrator, you want to notify when this service is ready to use and receive other status updates about this service in the future.
  7. If several geographical regions are available to you, select the us-ashburn–1 region.
  8. Set the Subscription Type to Number of Users and enter the number of users that you selected while placing the order for Oracle Analytics for Applications.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Verify that the details are correct and click Create.

Verify Your Oracle Analytics Cloud Subscription Instance and Sign In

Oracle sends an email to the designated email address when your Oracle Analytics Cloud Subscription instance is ready.

  1. Sign into the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console.
  2. Navigate to your service instances page and click Manage this instance for the instance whose URL you want.
  3. Click Oracle Analytics Cloud Subscription URL and then sign in to verify that your Oracle Analytics Cloud Subscription instance is up and running.

Create an Oracle Analytics for Applications Instance

Create a service instance to manage your cloud resources.

  1. Sign into the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console.
  2. Open the navigation menu. Under Solutions and Platform, click Analytics, and then click Analytics Apps for Fusion.
You see the service instances page.
  3. On the Instances page, click Create Instance.
  4. Optionally, select a compartment if you want to place the service instance in a compartment other than the default root compartment that Oracle created for you.
    Note

Ensure that you have created a compartment before you select it here. See Managing Compartments.
  5. Provide a display name for the service.
This name needn't be unique and can contain alphanumeric and special characters.
  6. Provide a name for the instance name.
This name should be unique in your tenancy (only names of deleted services can be reused). Also, this name can contain only alphanumeric characters without spaces.
  7. Provide a description for the service.
The description is optional and can contain as many as 255 alphanumeric and special characters.
  8. Select Development/Test as your first instance.
  9. Specify the number of users you expect to use this instance.
Enter a value between 20 and 1000 based on how many users you're entitled to as part of your subscription to Oracle Analytics for Applications.
  10. In Fusion Application Connection, provide the Oracle Fusion Application Services URL (not the Login URL) and credentials of the FAWService user from your Oracle Fusion Application Services instance.
    Note

Ensure that you have reset the password for the FAWService user in Oracle Fusion Application Services prior to entering the new password. See Reset Passwords.
  11. Optionally, click Test Connection to check the connection to the Oracle Fusion Application Services instance and confirm whether the credentials are valid.
  12. In Autonomous Data Warehouse Administrator Credentials, provide an administrator password for the Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse that is provisioned in your tenancy to store the transformed data.
  13. In Analytics Cloud Connection, provide the service instance URL of the Oracle Analytics Cloud Subscription instance that you previously created to use with Oracle Analytics for Applications.
  14. The email address for notification is pre-populated from the username. If the username is not an email, then provide a valid email address for notifications.
  15. Optionally, add tags to tag your instance.
  16. Click Create Instance.
Oracle sends an email to the designated email address when your service is ready. Alternatively, you can display the Activity page to check the current status. When the status changes from CREATING to ACTIVE, the service is ready to use.

Navigate to the Details page for the new service to access the Oracle Analytics for Applications URL and associated Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse. From here, you can also view or modify details such as Oracle Fusion Application Services instance password and Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse administrator password or delete the service instance that's no longer required.
