Editing a Data Asset

  1. Navigate to the workspace in which you want to edit a data asset.

     For the steps to access a workspace, see Accessing a Workspace.

  2. On the workspace home page, click Data assets.
  3. In the list of data assets, click the name of the data asset.
  4. On the data asset details page, click Edit.
  5. In the General information section on the Data asset <name> page, edit the property fields as needed. The following pages describe the data asset properties.

  6. In the Connection settings section, click the connection name to edit the connection details. For more information, see Editing a Connection.

     The following connection actions are also available, if they're applicable in the data asset that you're editing:

     • Click Add connection to add more connections, if needed. For more information, see Creating a Connection.
     • Select Make default from the Actions menu of a connection to select a different default connection for the data asset. For more information, see Creating a Connection.
     • Select Delete from the Actions menu of a connection to delete the connection. For more information, see Deleting a Connection.
  7. If applicable, in the Default staging location section, specify the Object Storage bucket to use as the staging location by following these steps:
     1. Select the Object Storage data asset that's associated with the Object Storage bucket that you want to use for staging.
     2. Select the connection to use in the selected Object Storage data asset.
     3. Select the compartment that contains the bucket.
     4. Select the bucket.

     In addition to the relevant policies described in Object Storage policies, you must enable the PAR_MANAGE request permission on the staging bucket.

     allow any-user to manage buckets in <compartment-name> where ALL {request.principal.type = 'disworkspace', request.principal.id = '<workspace-ocid>', request.permission = 'PAR_MANAGE'}

  8. When you finish editing the data asset, click Save changes.
     You're returned to the data asset details page.

• Use the oci data-integration data-asset update command and required parameters to update a data asset:

  oci data-integration data-asset update [OPTIONS]
